Antler Sgian Dubh: This sgian dubh has a handle of local Red Deer antler, with an ebony pommel cap and copper fittings. The blade is 5 inches, clay-hardened 1080 steel, double-edged, with a double hamon temper-line. |

This is a simple wee knife, but I enjoy making something a little different in terms of sgian dubhs. Lately, I've made several very fancy sgian dubhs, which have their own charm, but as a Highlander, I'll always be just as fond of a 'back to basics' sgian. The antler handle makes this ideal for wearing as a 'day sgian' but the sheath-style gives it a traditional edge... SOLD. |
